The Origin of the Cocoonababy Nest...
Cocoonababy was created in 1995 by Daniele Salducci, a pediatric physiotherapist at the Center for Early Health and Social Action in Marseille, France.
Observing the needs of the babies she treated, Daniele Salducci began to design and produce mattresses that would allow newborns to perform movements similar to those in the womb.
The initial stage was a medical study and determination of the position of the premature baby, which could be called the “subsequent womb”. The parameters were based on vital functions (heart, oxygenation and respiration), sleep patterns and the level of influence of stress on various pathologies.
The second stage was a postural study. The “womb watching” position is determined by the support provided, how tightly the baby is held or “held,” and the curling of the baby’s body.”
Daniele Salducci and his team soon realized that the benefits that premature babies experienced also applied to full-term babies. After several more years of research and a partnership with Red Castle, these nests are now available worldwide for home use.
